The England manager Questions Home Crowd Support Following Comfortable Win Over Wales.
Thomas Tuchel voiced his regret that the Three Lions team did not enjoy stronger backing from the Wembley spectators during their decisive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.
The manager was happy to see his side showcase their strong performance, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Watkins, and Saka inside the initial stages settling the match. However, he was not content with the mood at the national stadium.
“We had one and a half sessions to prepare against a well-trained team and we performed excellently,” the coach commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We couldn’t score the additional ones. The stadium was silent. There was no support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”
“What more can you give in 20 minutes? We prevented them get away. If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s sad because the team deserved greater backing today.”
“I stand by this statement. We cannot do more than being three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a greater support in moments where it becomes tough.”
“In the second half, to get behind us, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s football and that is it.”

Apart from potentially starting a fight with fans, the manager also caused a stir by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his squad. Yet the decision was validated by Morgan Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.
“He plays his game,” Tuchel noted. “He is a No 10 and he is competing for his place.”

Craig Bellamy hopes that his team, who face a strong Belgian side in a crucial qualifying match on next week, improve after their disappointing first-half display.
